Trainer Classes are the types of Pokémon Trainers. They come in different varieties which describe their occupation, estimated age, and sometimes what Pokémon they train. The purposes of Trainer Classes have changed throughout the time of Pokémon Voyage quite a bit.
Trainer Classes and Usergroups in the Modern Era
Not to be confused with usergroups, on one's character profile, the Trainer Class is almost irrelevant and only exists to make Pokémon Voyage feel a bit more like the video game series.
However, a players default usergroup while not binding, will usually determine their character's goals within the game.
- Trainers will tend to focus on Gym Battles and the Pokémon League.
- Coordinators will tend to focus on Pokémon Contests.
- Undecided members while technically not a viable option have not made up their minds about the two main play styles.
Trainer Classes in Early Pokémon Voyage
When Pokémon Voyage was first created, there was an actual Trainer Class system that directly impacted the in game expreience. Players had the option of choosing from a list of Trainer Classes during the character creation process and would gain special in game perks. These perks were usually just small EXP boosts for their preferred type. The system was removed for its complexity and balance issues.
